In support of CSC-in-the-Ruins: Free Shakespeare for Kids program, hosted at the Patapsco Female Institute Historic Park in Ellicott City, which provides families the opportunity to see high quality Shakespeare plays by offering free admission to children under 19.

For over 30 years, our community has enjoyed the Columbia Festival of the Arts’ free 3-day LakeFest at Lake Kittamaqundi and stellar ticketed events at the Jim Rouse Theatre, the theatres at Howard Community College, and at other venues around Howard County. The annual 2-week Festival takes place every June and is a much loved community tradition that brings people together under the People Tree – and near the Rouse brothers statue – to remind us all to work and play together and to enjoy one another regardless of our differences – the values upon which Columbia was founded.

In support of “Head Start In Art: An Artist‐In‐Education” program that provides children participating in Howard County Head Start programs, hands‐on artistic experiences for a period of three to six weeks.
In Howard County and across the United States, individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other disabilities face an expanding crisis. The supply of affordable, accessible housing, never sufficient to demand, is becoming dramatically more scarce as a rapidly expanding population of young adults with ASD and other disabilities transition into adulthood. In Howard County alone, approximately 600 students with learning disabilities, autism, developmental delay, or intellectual disabilities will transition out of high school in the next five years.
We’re helping meet this demand with an innovative solution: an inclusive, mixed income community for adults with disabilities, families and older adults in which neighbors lend one another social support. Please donate to help support planning of this initiative.

The Carlessia Hussein Minority Scholarship Fund provides up to $20,000 scholarships to African American, Latino or Native American males who are enrolled in a Howard County public middle school for the costs of tuition and related expenses associated with participating in “qualified programs” that provide opportunities to gain knowledge, skills and unique experiences to enable them to successfully complete school and become life-long leaders in their community.

Vision Financial Group, based in Columbia, Maryland, was founded by three long-time Howard County residents and graduates of Glenelg High School. Two brothers and a lifelong friend had a goal of creating a wealth advisory firm that was focused on building long-term relationships within their community.
The founding members remain extremely involved in the local community and wanted to further give back, which stemmed a partnership with the Community Foundation of Howard County and the launch of the Vision Financial Group Scholarship Fund.
The Vision Financial Group Scholarship Fund will award a graduating senior of the Howard County Public School System with a $20,000 scholarship ($5,000/year for 4 years). The first scholarship will be awarded to a Glenelg High School graduating senior, with the long-term goal of providing one scholarship per year to a graduating senior from every high school in Howard County.
