The Community Foundation of Howard County and Ellicott City Partnership have collected and will distribute nearly $1.1 million in grants to those affected by the Ellicott City flood this year. Flood relief donations received to date fully funded eligible requests in the categories for individuals, heads of household, employees, business owners and residential property. The commercial property category could only be partially funded and fell short of meeting grant application requests by a total of $278,750.
The foundation will continue to accept donations through its Howard County Community Relief Fund through Nov. 30 to bridge the gap in funding for commercial property applicants. After Nov. 30, the Community Foundation will designate donations to the relief fund for future emergency needs.
